National Day of Service

The Fifth Annual Boys Hope Girls Hope National Day of Service (NDOS) will take place on Saturday April 12, 2014, to coincide with National Volunteer Week (April 6 to 13) and Global Youth Service Days (April 11-13).

Since 2000, Boys Hope Girls Hope has sponsored this annual event to unite our network on a single day, to join with other National Service and AmeriCorps programs, to recognize and celebrate the service of volunteers, and to further our mission of developing men and women for others.

In 2013, over 500 participants completed 1,800 service hours in projects in every one of our US Affiliates and our International Office.  Projects completed included neighborhood cleanup events, service at a  food bank, cooking at a shelter, assisting other organizations with events for youth, joining service projects sponsored by other agencies, and hosting volunteer recognition events.  We partnered with other community organizations and engaged our scholars, former volunteers, alumni, other AmeriCorps programs, and new community volunteers in this day of service and community.
