ACADEMIC COORDINATOR
The Academic Coordinator is charged with supporting the mission and values of Boys Hope Girls Hope through overseeing all programs and opportunities offered by Boys Hope Girls Hope of Detroit. This position oversees the residential and community based programs, working in conjunction with our partner schools to ensure academic success.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Personal academic counseling with parent and child
- Working closely with partner schools to ensure academic success
- Developing an Academic Plan for each scholar
- Finding resources to support the Academic Plan
- Arranging for academic tutoring
- Establishing network connections within the community
- Assisting students and parents with applications and scholarship forms.
PROGRAM COORDINATOR
The Program Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of programmatic operations. This position requires a motivated, energetic individual who has the ability to motivate diverse groups of people and communicate clearly and effectively with adolescents, their guardians or parents, supervisees, co-workers and supervisors, teachers and other audiences verbally or in writing.
The Program Coordinator must demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills and sensitivity to different religious backgrounds and cultures. Candidates must have knowledge of residential care practice and licensing regulations, the ability to interpret testing and evaluations, computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet applications, and the ability to manage several projects and activities at the same time.
