Girls Hope Home Closer Than Ever Before 

We told you of the positive results of the feasibility study, by our development firm, The Steier Group, in the fall of last year. The results supported moving forward to build a Girls Hope home. The development firm of The Steier Group was retained to implement a capital campaign to raise the funds in order to: purchase land, build the Girls Hope home, establish an endowment, set operations and include the annual appeal for Boys Hope for the first year of this three year capital effort.

The goal of raising $1.5-1.75 million seemed daunting but really is bare bones to accomplish all that is needed on behalf of addressing a program for girls in-need in the Denver metro area. It is the first quarter of '07 and support has been outstanding. Individuals, businesses, corporations and foundations have generously contributed to help make this vision a reality.

The land is in negotiation and when finalized the opportunity of HomeAid will be realized. HomeAid has provisionally offered to cover the cost for as much as 50% of the cost of the building of the girls' home. Through the generosity of a variety of trasdespeople, in the construction and home building industry, who offer their skills and materials, this project will be off the blueprints and in-place for 2008-2009.

Clearly the strong foundation and 12+year history of Boys Hope in Denver makes it a model to launch a Girls Hope opportunity. Education is a key element in the Boys Hope Girls Hope approach to helping young people succeed. Through the generosity of Regis Jesuit High School , the girls will have the same scholarship opportunity as the Boys Hope scholars. The capital campaign has completed the preparation phase which included the creation of the Girls Hope promotional materials to be used for informing our supportive donor public. As well, the solicitation training of volunteers to visit with the advanced donors also occurred. The solicitation of the community occurs in February with the active phases of the campaign coming to a close in early March. During this time there have also been gathering events to keep all informed of the progress of the campaign.
