Boys Hope Home
The National Guard searched our home. The markings on the door show the date of the search, who searched, and what they found. The Boys Hope home has been gutted so that it can begin to dry and kill the mold. The rebuilding will be a long process. The inside of the home received about 3 1/2 feet of water. All the furniture is ruined.

The mold is creeping up the walls. Some of the pictures survived, but some have fell to the ground next to the television. You can see the water line at 6 feet. The salt and chemical filled water has killed all the grass and shrubbery. Mold is taking over the where the water left off. The boys will have to wait for another heated "Pool Tournament."

Carrollton Ave. is desolate as the city remains vacant and partly under water. Vehicles washed up on the lawn after the 7 foot of water receded. The water covered everything including a recently donated vehicle and everything in our shed.

Girls Hope Home
The water is slow to drain. The smell of mold and stagnant water fill the air. Unfortunately, the flood waters spared no area including the newly redecorated rooms of the girls. Above, the water line can be seen on these books which was only 6-8 inches from the ceiling.

The waters left behind an unusual 'gummy' slime that covered clothes, walls, pictures, and anything it touched. There will always be H O P E! The entire first floor was under water. The water line in the front of the house was at least 6 feet with parts reaching close to 7 feet of water.

The comfort of Mary still standing amid the destruction in the Meditation Garden is some consolation for the amount of loss. The girls' piano and newly renovated rec room was completely underwater. The Recreation Room behind the Girls Hope home is a total loss.

Boys Hope Girls Hope Office
The office took a beating from the waters. All equipment was lost to the water. Water still standing makes for a murky gumbo of trash, sewerage, and furniture.

The new paint job isn't so new anymore. The mold has taken over the walls and ceiling. The slime is everywhere!
