Because we are privately funded, we rely upon the generosity of individuals, corporations and foundations to help our children reach their full potential.   There are several ways that you can give or volunteer.

Give!

Personal and/or Corporate Gifts
Personal and corporate involvement can take many forms, all of which provide valued benefits to our children. Gifts of cash or stock are always appreciated, as are volunteers in our homes or at special events.

Making a donation through our secure server is fast and easy, and when we receive your donation, we will send you an acknowledgement in the mail for tax purposes. Click on the Give button to make a donation. (Please note that your credit card receipt will show "LICA - GiveDirect" rather than the Boys Hope Girls Hope) Thank you for your support!

Community Volunteers

Boys Hope Girls Hope sees each child as a unique person, an individual with dignity, having basic needs and rights.   Ordinarily, the family of origin provides the environment in which these rights and needs are protected and can be fulfilled.   When the family is unable to maintain this environment, Boys Hope Girls Hope intervenes on behalf of the child, providing a loving, stable home and caring individuals to nurture and support the child.   While it is the primary responsibility of administration and residential staff to forge genuine, healthy human relationships with each child, community volunteers bring a wealth of gifts to share with each child and increase the effectiveness of our program.

Community volunteers are members of the local community who assist a specific Boys Hope Girls Hope affiliate in a variety of ways.   They donate their services directly to their local program as board or program committee members, tutors, meal moms/dads, fundraisers, mentors, office workers, etc.

Categories:

An Administrative Volunteer is any person who helps with routine office tasks or development activities. Examples include fundraising, special events, administrative support, seasonal tasks.

A Program Volunteer is any individual who performs program related services or helps with tasks around the homes such as cooking dinner or helping with maintenance of the home (painting, gardening, etc.).

A Youth Volunteer is any person who works directly with the children, either one-on-one or in groups.   Examples include mentors, babysitters, respite providers, field trip chaperones, etc.

Screening Procedure:

Each Boys Hope Girls Hope child has been entrusted to our care by the parent/legal guardian. In consideration of this most important responsibility, it is essential and non-negotiable that each community volunteer be screened according to specific guidelines.

To begin the screening process, please contact the affiliate with which you would like to volunteer.  Click here for a directory of Boys Hope Girls Hope programs located throughout the United States.

You will soon receive a packet of information containing the Volunteer Application, a list of local volunteer opportunities, and any other information that local staff has created for your information.

Your skills and talents are much needed
and deeply appreciated!

Thank you for your interest in Boys Hope Girls Hope.
