What is the Junior Board?
The Junior Board of Boys Hope Girls Hope of Greater New Orleans is a group of young professionals ages 23-35 interested in philanthropy and leadership in the New Orleans nonprofit community.
Board members will:
* Increase awareness of and support for the mission of Boys Hope Girls Hope in the community;
* Gain experience in board service, marketing and public relations, event planning and philanthropy;
* Provide insight and ideas on program services and ways to reach out to diverse audiences;
* Enhance presentation, communications, networking and business skills;
* Represent the organization through social media and at special events and functions;
* Network with like-minded young professionals in the Greater New Orleans area; and
* Engage in activities and service projects with Boys Hope Girls Hope scholars.
Past Events that the Junior Board has Sponsored:
*Kickball Game with Boys Hope Girls Hope Scholars
*Happy Hour at the Carousal Bar
*Yard Sale Fundraiser
*Hope on Deck Spring Fling
*Happy Hour Mixer with Board of Directors at Cure Wine Bar
What are the expectations and duties?
If selected as a Junior Board member, you will serve a 12-month term.
Additionally, a Junior Board member is expected to fulfill the following requirements annually:
* Attend 4 Junior Board meetings per year
* Stay informed about Junior Board matters by reviewing minutes and reports
* Participate in fundraising for Boys Hope Girls Hope of Greater New Orleans
* Pay membership dues determined by quorum of the Junior Board at the first annual meeting
* Participate in one or more of the Junior Board's four committees:
Public Relations Committee
Events Committee
Membership Committee
Service Committee
* Attend committee meetings as needed
