Why give to Boys Hope Girls Hope-San Francisco Bay Area?
Because you believe in the transformative power of a rigorous education.
Through our relationships with academic institutions, our scholars have access to some of the best college prep schools in the Bay Area.
Because you understand that learning requires daily structure, freedom from want and a stable environment.
Many of our scholars come from homes and neighborhoods where substance abuse, violence, and parental absenteeism are part of everyday life. At Boys Hope Girls Hope San Francisco Bay Area (BHGH-SF Bay Area), we provide a safe home supervised by skilled mentors and counselors, where structure, support and a family-like environment make learning possible.
Because you recognize that children need an advocate in their lives.
Our scholars are generally the first in their families with dreams of going to college. To help them succeed, our staff works with teachers, counselors and caregivers to make sure that everything possible is done to support our scholars as they work toward high school graduation and college.
Who are the scholars of BHGH-SF Bay Area?
Our scholars are talented young men and women who come from living situations in San Francisco and the Bay Area where the chances of graduating from high school—much less going to college—are slim. At BHGH-SF, they find not only a stable, supportive home, but a complete array of resources designed to help them succeed academically and personally. Perhaps most importantly, they find people committed to their long term success, a commitment that starts the first day they come to BHGH-SF and continues through college and beyond.
Why does BHGH-SF Bay Area need your support?
With your help, we can continue to make this uniquely comprehensive and long-term commitment to our scholars, providing:
-
A nurturing home supervised by caring adults and mentors 24/7 and education in top college-prep schools
-
Support through the college application and visiting process
-
A commitment to be there during college and beyond
-
Medical and dental expenses no covered by insurance
-
Professional support services, such as counseling and tutoring
-
